My sister suffered from this during both her pregnancies. It was so bad during her 1st pregnancy (after she gave birth she weighed a good deal less than she did before she got pregnant) that she waited 5 years before she could face a second pregnancy. I went to stay a number of times to help look after my niece & my sister when she was pregnant the second time. She was too ill to cope with normal housework and cooking was definitely out of the question.
A lot of people seemed to think she was just over reacting (which was infuriating) & it was just morning sickness (with various people stopping just short of telling her to stop making a mountain out of a molehill

) but it's far more extreme than that. From what I've read some women suffer so severely that they are forced to terminate the pregnancy as in the most extreme cases the expectant mother can die
I think it's one of those conditions that unless you experience it or know someone who has you don't realise quite how devastating it is. It seems particularly rough that you're missing out on enjoying the pregnancy & just wishing the whole thing was over
