Gor blimey, what a kerfuffle....(thanks scross).
Had to M/Hall today (28/12/04) to return some stuff and spend some dosh and fully expected the car parks to be full, which they were but the thing which suprised me the most was the attitude of some of the other drivers.
As Mrs Dary had took the family car to work with her, this morning I was reduced suffering the works van and therefore had to use the car parks near Argos & Sainsburys. I drove up and down like all the other parking hopefulls and eventually saw this couple walking back to their car with a trolley with a few bags of shopping in it.
They unloaded the shopping and the lady got in the passenger side while the bloke, who was the driver by the way, took the trolley back. The whole time Im sat holding up the traffic with a big van.
To me common sense with dictate that the passenger should take the trolley back while the driver moves the car and lets someone else park and also goes to the trolley park to pick the passenger up to save their legs a bit
Walking back to the van I was watching others trying to park and noticed how teritorial drivers were being.
After leaving MH, I went to Rotherham and had to nip in to B&Q and this bloke standing next to his own car waved at me to show me he was pulling out and directed me in to his spot.
All this leads to one question. Are people in Rotherham more friendly or are they just better at using car parks.?

And how do you know the person at B&Q was from Rotherham ? And how do you know the people at Meadowhall are all from Sheffield ?
I found parking great today, got closer to the main doors at Meadowhall than any other day, not because it was quiet, but because there was them parking guys directing traffic.
I guess they close an area off to incoming cars and only allow cars to leave, as I drove down I got through just before they put cones across the road, round directed through to the underground area and right by the escalators. I'm glad every dosnt act like this, someone has to fill the overspill areas out in the wet, cold mud lol.

Here's a tip for you if you only want to nip into M/hall quickly and the car parks are very busy.
You can park at the Railway station for 30 mins at the drop off zone, very handy if you are making a flying visit.

To that snotty nosed COW who got out of her car to tell me off for parking in a mother child space you can go to hell. What kind of parents take their baby to a bloody shopping centre on the busiest day of the year you IDIOTS. I wish i hadnt have moved but i wasnt thinking straight cos id been driving around like an idiot for half an hour looking for a space. I hope you read this forum you snobby toffee nosed DOG of a woman.
As for your pathetic argument that you needed the wider space to get the buggy out, it was in the boot you stupid woman so why the hell did you need more space and, again, why the hell bring a buggy to meadowhall on THE BUSIEST DAY OF THE YEAR when you can barely move in there as it is.
When youre stupid enough to conceive another brat in this overpopulated world then youve got to be prepared to sacrifice many things in life, and leaving the husband at home to look after the brat instead of lugging it along with you so you can swarm round the bits of tat that theyre selling off a bit cheaper than usual, is one of them. Next time i will NOT move and yes ill gladly be clamped just to prove my point.
Just cos youve given birth to a brat doesnt mean you need special parking spaces. What do you want a bloody medal? Maybe they should have special red carpets from the mother and kid spaces to thank you for not using contraceptives.
I hope you enjoyed your shopping trip you horrible horrible woman.

Me thinks that Kitykat has issues.
We often use those parent and child place's but only when Ive got my little un with me.
He's ten now, but there is no age limit on them .

I am guessing by your very rude remarks that you dont have Children? What if you were to have them... you needed to go to the shops but had no one to look after the little ones for you?
Maybe this woman had no choice... everyone is entitled to go shopping with their Children no matter what time of the year it is...
I dont have any Children of my own at the moment... but i do happen to agree with Mother & Child spaces as Mothers then dont have the struggle of trying to balance the shopping the kiddies along with buggies etc... Should the Mother have a partner or another adult with them then i feel they shouldn't use the space due to having help at hand...
Hope this makes sense

Hehe I agree Kittykat! I dragged my poor boyfriend round Meadowhell yesterday and we came to the same conclusion. If I were a Mother, I'd consider myself to be a very bad one for putting a child through that. Childcare is readily available, its highly unlikely that there's NO ONE to look after the child. Infact, I'm going babysitting today to save three under 10's of the trauma of sales shopping with their Mother at Meadowhell.
As for getting out of your car to tell someone off about where they've parked... Well thats ridiculous. First of all its childish, she's only got the face on because you got there first. Second of all, although you were a little naughty parking in there anyway without little ones, you had been pushed to the limit after driving round for ages... I don't believe that you make a habit of it... Thirdly what kind of a Mother would get out of her car and presumably leave the child alone in there, just to get one over on another driver?! The world's gone mad!
I don't see what the deal is anyway with these parking spaces... They're a fraction of an inch larger than normal ones... Don't be so soft next time. You don't know her, she doesn't know you... Its a dog eat dog world out there! Next time, tell angry mothers your off to pick your child up from the Creche... Then stomp off and hit the shops.

I suppose you think it's OK to park in disabled spaces - after all, what are cripples doing going to Meadowhall at busy times with their wheelchairs and crutches - blocking the aisles, falling down and making the place look untidy - especially when you need to shop there.

...and while you're at it "kittykat", it might be quicker home if you ignore the one way streets, so what if some selfish swine wants to come the right way down it. If they stop and say anything just come on here and bad mouth 'em.

i have to say i agree with some bits but man you get angry! i went to m'hall the other day to take some clothes back and the amount of time i got rammed with bloody prams. the sight of unhappy kids was unbelievable, its too hot for them and they look miserable - the tears - not good
i know you cant park in disabled, but it actually doesnt matter with parent/child - its just courtsey.
youre comment about contreceptives (excuse spelling) was a bit harsh though, chill out
some people do abuse the fact that they have children and park where the hell they want, with or without kids. i had a stupid woman nearly crash into me, as she kerbed it in crystal peaks retail park. she just parked up on pavement in the biggest car ever! truck i mean and everyone was frowning at her and commenting. she looked a bit snotty actually. wish i had 4x4bmw
anyway kitty, have a stress on here, thats what its for. some comments back will be helpful some will be s**t.
happy shoppping (stick to internet !)

In the days when I used the ashtray in the car (sans baby) I used to save it up for when I saw people like Kittykat using dedicated spaces, I would then proceed to empty over their windscreens (better on a wet day)
Lessons need to be learnt!
BTW kittykat - STFU

btw = by the way
stfu = shut the f*** up
I agree about dumping ashtrays on the road, but these scummers need to be taught a lesson.
I went to Meadowhall on Monday, parked straightaway in the overflow and was probably inside the building way before any of the idiots who were determined to park in the carpark.
And yes, I took my son - does that make me a bad person? he loved it cos he got to sit on my shoulders.
To all the childless people out there who have jumped on kittykats bandwagon - I hope your fallopian tubes shrivel and wilt when it comes to the time when you do want children.

cheers for the info about abbrev's
kids are cool when u can sit em on shoulders and they can see and they dont get squished or cigarette in eye(people still smoke in there)
but ur comment on childlish people is out of order sorry, but thats just nasty. i have not got kids yet, but i know many people who have and they love the odd break away so they can shop more efficiently. its prams that get annoying and clueless parents who think everyone should move just cos they have babies.
i know that when i have them - ill be proud and want to show them off but not when its as busy as that - kids should be at home playing or something
