It's being respectful.

I think you will find 99.9% of Blades and certainly the players are well and truly gutted for the lad and wish him nothing but the best with his new club, Think you are just trying to stir the pot a little bit and make Sheff Utd look bad in the process
Read my post again paying paricular attention to the word seems

But don't let one game blind you - For the last two seasons we've seen numerous points slip through his fingers...
True, but some blame should also be attributed to whoever leaked this to Radio Sheffield, dont you agree?

We don't know who it came from - even if it was from Simmo himself to Walker, or Walker putting 2+2 together...?

But why has his name been leaked to Radio Sheffield and not others?

Its like you making an error at work that costs the company money and the day after being made reundant, you go into see the gaffer and he says 'We where going to make you redundant anyway'

The lad must be devestated, I realy feel for him. In my opinion United could have handled it better.

http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/18251999

"Sheffield United goalkeeper Steve Simonsen has confirmed to BBC Radio Sheffield that he is being released by the club this summer. "

From that, it sounds as if Radio Sheffield got it from Simonsen himself? Presumably anyone else released already knows, but either aren't deemed important by Walker, or they've chosen not to tell the local radio station themselves yet...

They're not making him redundant, they're not renewing his contract.

Ok.... how could they have handled it?
They haven't released any statements yet, as far as I'm aware.

Because he has been told they no longer want him less than 3 days after a 'man of the match' performance, probably his best of the season.

Thats splitting hairs I think.

They could have let the lad wash the wembley turf out of his shorts before telling him. They seem to be treating him more favourabley than an incarcerated striker, locked up for a heinous crime and still making a living from the club.

I asked why they seemed to be blaming him.

No it isn't, I'm correcting your mistake.

Serious question.... would you rather know that you need to start looking for a new club, or sit around wondering what your employers will do next?

Dont think I need to answer that one Robbie (its a no brainer)

But surely you can see that the lad has been harshly treated, especialy whith what Evans has done and still draws a wage a staggering 39 days after being jailed.

Do you not think that sends a poor message out and rewards ill doing?

I don't think he has been harshly treated.
He's drawn a very good wage since he has been with us, and is amongst our top earners. A wage that hasn't been sustainable, but we've honoured it as we should do.

Regards Evans, there is nothing around to suggest that he is drawing a wage from United, it's an assumption he has because no statement has been made.
Even if he is (which I very much doubt), he is being paid for the same period that Simmo will be too.
Some would say, Evans has done a lot more for us this season too.

Anyways, Simmo has gone now and he goes with our best wishes.
I am sure he will be playing against us this season.

You just know that come the last day of next season, when we need to beat Crawley (or whoever) to guarantee automatic, Simmo in their goal will have a blinder and keep a clean sheet...

Why do you think he has been harshly treated - because we have let him go or because he has been named before the list has come out ?

Billy Clarke... wonder if we were ever really in the running to sign him back in January, that could've proven to be a very good signing (in hindsight!).

He only played sporadically for Crawley with 3 goals.
His build up play was impressive, but his finishing was poor.

I think we only wanted him on loan, crawley were offering a perm deal.

I would say cos its come out before the list has,but if he himself contacted radio sheff .well thats his decision,if not then paul walker is the one in the wrong.

It's not so much the fact that that he has been let go (being on big money he may be the first of many) but the way this has happened.

If he has (and it seems this way) gone to Radio Sheffield himself to give them the news, he seems like he is mightily naffed off about what has happened.

I honestly do see the big fuss about it tbh. His contract was up, he hasnt been kept on so he's gone. The fact that PW has reported before the list has come out doesnt bother me in the slightest - maybe i am being harsh. Simmo would have known anyway and if it is him thats gone to RS with it then so what.....time for some fresh blood.
