Chanderpaul defying English bowlers as ever, hes fantastic to watch, plays Eng conditions so well......Strauss in the runs,Broad bowling at his best......its like the winter never happened!!
Theres some talent in the Windies side, but not that class that made them so fearsome in the days of marshall and richards, but i always enjoy this series, windies evoke some sublime memories from the days of calypso cricket.

I watched a fair bit of their series with the Aussies and I think they are close to being a decent side or at least they would be if certain players could play in a test series rather than IPL.

This had been a really good effort by the West Indies.

Probably not all that high, but the bet would have paid off.

At the risk of sounding decidedly Irish .. 191 is a lot tougher total than it is, when it's a fourth-innings target. Particularly as we've lost a wicket already before reaching double figures.

Lost 2 and Trott was about a millimetre from being out.

Yet more proof that, if you need a batsman to avoid losing his wicket in tricky conditions at the end of a day, the batsman least likely to be able to do it because he bats at number 11 is not the chap you should be sending in.

Especially when he has a habit of taking a run off the first ball in this situation.

Well 1-0 up in the series and the first day of the second test saw a superb fightback by the Windies batsmen, seemingly on the rack at 63-4,sammy and samuels took the fight to englands attack on a superbly entertaining first day, chanderpaul was again done by swan after a disputed umpiring call and with ramdin out shortly after at 136-6,it looked like a collapse was on the cards.
What enthralling day

I think even I might get runs on this track and my team would have me bat at 12 if it was possible

You remind me of the bowler who was nicknamed "Ferret" because he went in after all the rabbits.

Strauss is up to 98, and KP is also clouting his way up the scoreboard, with his patented "trying to smack yourself in the face with a cricket bat" shot sending the ball over wicketkeeper's head for four runs.

*edit* A second century in successive Tests for Strauss. After a long spell of poor form, it's great to see him plundering the bowlers again.
