Ive burnt 2 different types of DVD's and they both skip when you play them on the PS2, but when they are played in WMP they dont skip...
So i was just wondering if the problem here is the PS2 not being able to play certain types oif DVD's or if i can burn it in a different way to make them playable on the PS2....BTW i have tried burning at slow speeds as well...

no i dont think its the laser because i have another DVD thats been burnt and it plays fine.... maybe its just that different brands of DVD play better than others? this is what i want to know...

That's definitely possible. I've had DVD-Rs that won't burn on my burner so it's likely some players like some discs more than others

Don't use cheap unbranded discs... I know from experience that they're crap, don't work and have very poor compatibility with external devices such as consoles and even standalone DVD players.
Use a known brand such as Packard Bell, Memorex et al.
Brand is pretty irrelevant unless you know what you're looking for. Just make sure you buy something with a good quality dye. I've bought hundreds of Ritek dvdr over the years and they are imho the best combination of quality and value. Just be careful to buy from somewhere that will tell you they dye, as some brands change them around - as plenty of other people have suggested, I recommend SVP.
