Hi turkshead,i was a drivers mate to a bloke who lived around 42,high st.in mosborough,(50's).His name was Les Hutchinson, what a great guy, worked for tommy wards at tinsley, drove an old E.R.F.low loader. One memorable trip was leave sheffield sun.to liverpool docks, overnight in manchester on mon.tues.to todmorden(pick-up) then to glasgow.then onto wards inverkeithing dockyard, stayed at"silver links transport cafe"at kincardine bridge, then picked up a lifeboat off the "empress of canada",took it to battersea boys club, then on sunday picked up a load of ketton cement at stamford, and back to the yard at tinsley sunday afternoon.not bad ,to say no motorways. those were the days.(you'll have me crying in a minute)lol clydesdale (anyone remember les?)
