I wanted Harry years ago, and he's still my favourite for it. Guus hindink would be a close second though. Good record with various international teams (apart from the last one oddly enough) so knows what's needed at tournaments, did a good job at Chelsea to hold together a squad that was all over the place.
And can string a sentence together in English.

Harry Redknapp is probably the best English choice; Mourinho if we're talking dream appointments. That said, it doesn't really matter who gets the job: England are not likely to win a major tournament for many years.
Capello is rightly considered one of the best managers in the game. While he undoubtedly made a few mistakes as England manager, anyone who thinks a change of coach will turn us into a side capable of beating the likes of Spain, Holland, Germany, Italy or France is mistaken: the new manager will have to choose from the same pool of players as Capello.

Martin O'Neill for me. And that's ahead of people like Mourinho, Redknapp et al.

prob worth letting redknapp have a crack, or martin o'neil if he's up for it. i dont see mourhino working for england for some reason, not sure why but he's a fantastic club manager for sure. i just get the feeling he wouldnt fit in with the english FA and it would end in tears quite quickly.

Good idea, Mick McCarthy! We need a passionate/proud/chest thumping person so I'll go for Mick McCarthy with Stuart Pearce as assistant.

I've applied for the England manager's job.
I know I won't get it, but it keeps the dole people off my back for another couple of weeks.
My mate made the mistake of applying for the Wolves job.
He's got to go for an interview on Monday.

He's also just started a new job, so he's ruled out now. I'd have gone for him as a short term appointment until after the Euros in the summer.

it simply doesnt matter who we appoint, until we get some players that can pass a ball we might aswell start playing lacrosse while the other team has fun using our 80,000 seater museum of football mediocreness

After todays farce at the Emirates I dont think Redknap will be worth a punt.5-2 down and he brings a defender on and leaves Lennon on the bench...incredible
