The street i live in is full of dog mess. You would think someone was drunk with all the mess to avoid. If i phone the council will they come and clean it up ?

If you live in a council property and you have a dog, aren't the council supposed to send somebody around to clean the dog poo out of your garden?

Why should the ratepayers have to pay rates to have this filthy mess cleaned up. The dog owners should be found and made to pick it up with their bare hands.

How much are the ratepayers going to have to pay to set up the dog DNA database? How much would testing each dog poop cost? (Would the sampler just take a bit, or pick up the lot and put the unused portion back afterwards?)
If you catch an owner allowing a dog to crap and leaving it behind, that's one thing - but how many dogs are let out at night by lazy owners to do their own thing?

Whilst i agree with your comment, how would we catch said dog owners, short of having CCTV on every street corner, it's an impossible task.

If the dog mess was in my area would take a shovel to it and shift it myself-I would not delegate such an unpleasant task to another person.Once on shovel I woud relocate to the home of the dog-owner.

Picking up (your own) dog's crap is hardly 'such an unpleasant task' nor is it difficult. You put a plastic bag over your hand, pick up the crap, turn the bag the other way out and tie the neck. The bag goes in the dog poop bin (if there is one) or in your dustbin.

Are you certain that the person who owns the dog in the area is responsible for the mess?
I'd be blimmin' livid if anybody just assumed that because I have a dog then my dog must be the one responsible for dog muck in the street. I agree that letting your dog poo all over the place without picking it up is horrible, but there are such things as owners who pick up after their dogs properly.

There are some dirty people in my locality who leave dog poo on the street, I don't know who they are, but rest assured, if I do ever find out, I shall be using your method.
As an aside, we do always clean up after our dog.

I'm sure you would. Knocking on some skin heads door to bring his pit bull's crap back!

I would not guess and would be certain.I would not refer to responsible owners as things but people.
