As of today, 51s are running but sticking to the main roads, and suffering delays.

It's likely to be better tomorrow but it's pointless setting anything in concrete until we see what we've woken up to tomorrow morning.

43s supposed to be running to Chesterfield but via Dronfield station, so not round the estates.

I can't believe that the IT staff at SYPTE have not been called in to sort out their website, should be priority in these weather conditions.

Very poor show from SYPTE regarding their website. Telling everyone to view their website and then it crashes just as it starts snowing. Typical! Thankfully, at least the bus operator websites are still online!

Also, thought this may be of use that I've just posted in the other thread, relating to the road network around the city with the live traffic cameras.

It is a poor show that the website's not working.

Every time we get snow, Sheffield Forum sees a huge increase in visitors, many looking for information on public transport. That's why we've made this thread a sticky for the day. We took a similar approach last winter and the general feedback from members and visitors was that it was useful. Even when the Travel South Yorkshire website it working, we sometimes have more up to date info on here anyway.

I'll re-post the link to the Travel South Yorkshire Twitter feed which is being regularly updated: https://twitter.com/#!/TravelSYorks

earlier I set off to woodhouse village as needed essentials, Badger road was passible as many cars and taxi's using it, but not one bus would come along this road, only going to station rd,it seems not enough test routes done,to see if these busses can get through.

Why should IT staff be called in?

It's the job of the SYPTE duty staff to input the information on the website.

The IT support staff will already be on call for it if the system goes down.
