We used to live at Woodseats and it wasn't bad at all. Like others have said, the traffic is bad so don't expect to get anywhere fast but over all, I give it 7/10.

i agree traffic horredous at times...lived in woodseats for twenty years been gone just over 10 years but still local. the area has changed and not particularly for the better but its still better than plenty of other areas.
Don't live there, there's a bloke called Roy who lives round there and he goes round in his Mother's clothes and tries to flirt with young men.
Strange i've lived in the area for years and have never ever come across this individual or even heard of him. I like it round here as there are many good shops to deal with most of my needs, several supermarkets within walking distance and decent public transport links if I need to go somewhere else in the city.
Doctors, dentist and opticians all in the area and the locals tend to be friendly.

Been in woodseats for nearly 20 years now. Lived near Woodseats Rd first and now up by Abbey Lane. Really like it here. The amount of open space and woodland close by is amazing. Good value housing. Great schools nearby (Woodseats, Abbey Lane, St Thomas of Canterbury). Plenty of independent shops but big supermarkets nearby too. Pubs not bad. Restaurant scene really improving in recent years. Good place for first time buyers.
Downside - like everybody else says the traffic. It wasn't always quite this bad but the council royally screwed up a major traffic reconfiguration a few years back. You learn to live with it though.

Ladies and gentlemen, we apologise but due to coalition cuts the light at the end of the tunnel has been switched off.
I was born and brought up on Olivet Road, Woodseats, plenty of pubs, Woodseats WMC, I used to play for a Woodseats based football team, The Kestrels.
Graves Park very near, everything you need, I married and moved to Chesterfield, my family is still Woodseats based, I do miss the days I lived there, good memories.
I live just up the road in Norton Lees, and I love the area, Woodseats has a wide range of shops and the restaurant scene is improving (IMO The Kashmiri Aroma is one of the best indians in Sheffield)
The traffic is bad at peak times, but its a small price to pay I think and there are usually ways around it.
The pubs are fairly mixed but they are getting better (thornbridge buying the Cross Scythes is another step in the right direction)
I wouldn't want to live anywhere else in Sheffield
