So it seems that yet again the anti-cathedral protesters are following their usual tactics of fabricating "facts"
|
So ,yet another blatent lie from OSC , no doubt aimed at making the cathedral look mean spirited and nasty.

They are well hidden ,as i cant spot them anywhere in your pics.
Thanks for providing yet more proof that the OSC are ,at best ,economical with the truth. Weather we will see an OSC supporter/member come on here and disputr your clear evidence remains to be seen ,though i think we will see the usual dodging the facts ,and muddying the waters from the OS .

Maybe they have an early warning system that alerts them when someone who works is approaching and they scuttle into the tents and play sleeping lions till they leave.
Or maybe there just isn't anyone there most of the time.

I think even OSC have worked out that whatever their actual intentions were regarding the one month deal with the owner they are now going to have to honour it and give vacant possesion on the 18th. That or turn up at court vs the cathedral 3 days later having flouted a court order they mutually agreed to.
So no more cellotape over holes in the floor or pretty stars stencilled on short circuiting electrical junction boxes I fear. Shame, I'm sure community groups were queing up to take a 50/50 chance of survival to hold a basket weaving group or bicycle repair workshop in there.

From the meeting notes of the 27th
- A proposal was made to write to the Cathedral and see if there is any agreement we could potentially come to to try and avoid the cost claim and full court case. Nigel to write and send email ASAP.
Haven't we all been saying on here for weeks what the solution to expensive court costs are?

So not content with costing the Cathedral a fortune they're now trying to cost the taxpayer a fortune in Legal Aid.

So any donations to OSC will be funding a QC's less than humble fees (a QC who lost vitually the same case in London).
"Fight the 1% by giving us money which we'll give to a rich lawyer to fight a Cathedral that does loads of charity work with the least well off!!"

True. But I suspect the 'potential agreement' would again be more like 'we will move one metre to the left then you will give everything else we want without condition in perpetuity for eternity'. Rather than the obvious which is remove your tents from the forecourt.
I was interested by this quote for the minutes:
- Derek* will be the named person but the case is potentially against all Occupiers. They could potentially peruse costs from one or two defendants (who have the means). D has been preliminarily turned down for legal aid.
There are two people who share that (changed so I don't get in trubs) first name in the camp. Obviously they were hoping to put him up as the first line of fire with legal aid to prevent a couple of people who do obviously have assets from having those assets targeted for costs.
It strikes me that:
a) They're not that above taking money off the state they hate so much, trying to screw out a bit of legal aid.
b) For people who are so angry about the assets of others they're pretty keen on the idea of hanging onto their own aren't they?
I'm glad they got turned down for legal aid, I would have been furious if the state had funded this case which is only being driven my Occupy's malicious vendetta against the cathedral.
(*Not real name.)

It is the same chap though I have made a mistake in incorrectly promoting him to QC. Young Michael is not a silk merely a barrister, Fat Jan was the QC who acted for Occupy LSX with Michael as his understudy. Sadly it seems Jan had loftier matter on his mind than defending the promotion of a ghost-squat outside a provincial Cathedral so young Michael was left to make the lonely journey north on his tod. Still, the quakers crossed his palm with silver so while he's not going to win, he still gets paid. And looking at his profle on his chambers page winning cases seems to not be very high up the list of priorities for him, he's already got his loss in the LSX case as one of his "notable cases".
Someone who can't wait to publicise epic failure - an apt chap for OSC to give everything that has been donated to them to I suppose.

Cant see the judge being too happy if they ignore this agreement, and they dont take too kindly to court orders being ignored. They see it as people sticking two fingers up to them .

That would be the sensible solution IF they were there to protest againt the banks and big business ,but as we all know they are there purely to cause as much financial pain and hardship to the Cathedral as possible . That is there true aim here , nothing else. So they will sit it out ,costing the cathedral more money in the process ,until they are removed by force, and by the looks of their sparce camp ,it will take the Baliffs longer to clear the tents away than it will to clear the protesters off the site.

To be fair. It's like that all the time. I regularly visit Leopoldo square and pass the citadel of sheeyite all the time. I'm thinking the JCB is a really good idea, what's to hurt?

Well apparently they will be demonstrating outside RBS all this week. I had to laugh, on their facebook page they requested people:

Hey. Sounds good to me. A protest against the protestors. On the same line.
