Are you a Lord of the rings fan or a Harry Potter fan?
For me it has to be The Lord Of the Rings without a doubt one of the best films made so far

I've not voted because there was no option for me. I don't like either of them.

For me it has to be Lord of The Rings - but it has more eye candy for my age group.

"I' can't vote yet, because I haven't seen them both to be eligible to vote for any of the above" option is missing!

I like Harry Potter. The film inspired me to read the books, which LOTR didn't manage to do and getting me to read books is an incredibly difficult task. I'm about to start on the third book after finishing the Chamber of Secrets earlier today.

LOL, no offense but Harry Potter are kids books!
But they are all damn good and I can't wait till the 5th one comes out. However, you really should give LOTR a go. I read these as a kid and loved them sooo much. Harry Potter is a much easier read than LOTR admittedly, but LOTR is quite special and I'm proud of the fact that I read it as a child and seeing it come alive on screen was just fantastic.
As for being inspired to read the HP books after the film, that was lucky that it did. I was very very disappointed with Harry Potter (the first one), but I read the books first. The book was far far better than the film and I thought a lot of the magic was lost in the film.
LOTR, being a big fan since a child I was very nervous of the film, however I think they have done a grand job. I voted LOTR in the end although I love them both, LOTR has been an early childhood memory for me and the film was a better intepretation of the book than Harry Potter. I also found the kids acting in the first HP very wooden and it annoyed me.
In my opinion, HP is probably popular and may win the poll because its easy to read, a good fun story and kids and adults like it, so its a family thing, and its very now.
LOTR, is probably more suitable for older children and adults who can be bothered to read it and listen and pay great attention to the plot when watching the film. Also I think some people may find it hard to follow films that end on cliffhangers as they do in the LOTR and have to wait another year!

There is no comparison, it has to be LOTR.
I haven't read the Harry Potter book but fell asleep watching the film.

As I said I don't normally read books, so I need an easy read to keep my concentration. Anyway, I am a kid.

I think most of it's censored anyway, so don't worry if you slip up.

While I am having a "Madonna night" listening to her new album and the remixes of "Hung Up" I thought I would use the "search" button and see what polls I havent voted on and wake them up.
If it annoys you... tough
For me Lord of The Rings,
