I've just read this, and I believe that in todays game both teams back then would have finished with about 5 players each, its a good read

Just read this myself quite funny when he says a certain player was going to break his leg but couldn't get near him

I'd just read this in the paper, interesting how it sets out how supposedly United players were telling him they were going to break his leg, then a bit further down Jack Charlton told his players to go and 'do' the blades players with his blessing...

As SPG says, with a modern day namby pamby referee, you'd probably have had it abandoned by half-time for not enough players left!

He obviously loved the thought of coins being thrown to him by United, given that he signed for them later...

That was Curran at his best,showman! he lapped it up and was outstanding that day,trouble is he had many poor games and spat his dummy out if he didn't get his own way.
