Heres one of those interesting bits of useless information, the old Scarborough lifeboat named "City of Sheffield" is now stationed in Poole harbour, I wonder what the locals think of that?

sinking lifeboat??? geez that can't be good government promotion for its pride in safety. oh well - lets hope that there wasnt a rescue in progress when that happened

I think you'll find he's referring to HMS Sheffield that was sunk by an Exocet from the Argies.

Bit of a shame really. The original fundraising campaign for the boat was based on supporting the lifeboat in the town where many Sheffield people spend their holidays - Whitby. And now its gone to Poole?
