When you think about it the finest thing that has ever happened in Sheffield football is the fact that Chrisy Waddle has stuck to us through thick and thin.
Now i Know that Chrissy is not born and bred Sheffield but lets look at the facts.
He has set up home among us even though he is world famous.
He has [is] played in junior football in our city so no look at me i'm a big time charley attitude there.
He has had no so called benefit matches by pretending that he is skint.
He is a proper Sheffield by preference who generally loves this town so lets give him a pavement star outside the Town Hall and show our gratitude.

Have you been drinking? what brought that suggestion up? Waddle ? where would it stop if Waddle was given a "star" !
Currie? Warnock? Atkinson !! god forbid WILSON ?
No let Newcastle honour him.
Emyln Hughes and many exiled footballerS choose to stay in Sheffield, all have/did contributed in many ways, charity work etc.

Maybe he is, and his talent was unquestionable, my point is where would you stop? Waddle the sunday footballer !! Hughes the charity worker !! Atkinson the manager !! etc etc all exiles.
Let his home city honour him.

I would not object to Currie and Waddle getting a star.
Warnock no (hasn't achieved enough for Sheffield)
Atkinson no (only living manager to have won something with a Sheffield club but blotted his copy book by walking out on them)
Hughes no (you can't have a star for just living in Sheffield)
Wilson no (only man to get both Sheffield clubs relegated)

The best owls manager was Harry Caterick by a country mile but not a Sheffield Star ,That should go to Howard Wilkinson , Wednesday and ENGLAND Manager also born and bred proper .
