right i have blonde hair and underneath is dark with red flashes, i thought id re-dye my red and my bf normally helps me with this but seeing as he wasnt too enthusiastic i thought id do it myself - wont be doing that again! I was really careful to tie up all my blond out way, use gloves and also cover my neck and ears in vaseline to prevent them being dyed red - cos this is bright red. However i decided to protect my clothes by not wearing any as was gonna be getting in bath while dye was on anyways - i should have worn a t-shirt! cos my hair is long i ended up covered in red-whip like marks and bright red all over my shoulders, arms, breasts, back and even got it on my eyelids (and various places around the bathroom)  - i looked like summat out a horror film! This stuff does NOT wash off with soap but baby wipes seem to have removed most of it and im jus a little bit pink now so hopefully its down to the rubbing and will fade and not down to the dye still!
Anyways my tip of the day is if you are dying just the underneath of your hair wear an old t-shirt and get someone else to do it (dye your hair that is not wear the t-shirt!) and that baby-wipes are great for anything and everything

oops lol, i'll make a mental note for next time i dye my hair....when im brave enough to do it!
Seen people dye there hair and get 'stained' for days

Lol.... white spirit used sparingly should remove it from your body but don't use it on your face especially near your eyes. Bathe afterwards and watch it float to the surface.... lol. Nasty boyfriend.... starve Him.

I'm exactly the same... i dont really have any hair dying clothes so tend to do it in just my bra & jeans or whatever...
I too have quite longish hair and have died my shoulders breasts back and neck... in the past not good...
But blimey have to agree baby wipes are fab for those dye stripes...

Well.... I am gonna get the senior buyer to get some baby wipes for the Lads in work after reading this thread.... instead of the swarfega we use.... I can imagine it now.... fitters and engineers being all coochy coo to each other.... "Hey Baby, how are you today?"....lol.

Sounds good enough to me... maybe this will soften them up a little get them in touch with their feminine side they are brilliant

If only.... men who think they know it all are bad enough.... Women.. well.. Gulps! yes Miss.... they do know it all. Me shall instruct said buyer straight away.... actually I am gonna try em.... and then ask my secretary boss to order the buyer to buy em. He is scary.... Oooooh!

They are great they work for all sorts like make-up and oil and camo cream Johnsons ones are the best tho cos dont dry ur skin out. Am pleased to say that this morning i cant see any signs of red on me so will be out on the town tonight without have to adjust our fancy dress theme to halloween

When I had long hair before I started putting the dye on I used to put black bin liner across my shoulders (like a cape ) - then the hair could rest on the bin bag - no dye on skin or clothes, and just chuck the bin liner in the bin when finished!!

The Lads will be glad to get rid of any signs of make up after the weekend.... we have all kinds of hand cream available.... anti dermo stuff and the wipes might compliment their ugly features. Not! Maybe I can get them to wear leotards and say nice things to each other.
Glad you are sorted though.... ignore my stupid sense of humour and have a fantastic weekend.... I bet the pain will be worth it.

This might sound abit 
BUT if you damp some cotton wool with water and then dip it in some fag ash ewwwwww I know what you are all thinking,this will get rid of any staining on your skin from hair dye.
Trust me it works have been using it for years both at home and years ago when I had my own salon

ive heard that too. but i normally use a bit of nail varnish remover on some cotton wool- probably not very good for my skin- but it does the trick! lol

Haha it does work tho.I was told this by 3 hairdressers one being my aunt.I thought she was wappy when she told me,but i have been told many times befor about this one.i was just reading about this post till i seen about the fag ash as i was goin to say the same.

the last time i dyed my hair... deep red (scarlet almost) highlights it looked brill... until the sun got to it... two sunny weekends later it turned bright orange... not that their is anything wrong with orange... but it doesn't really suit me or my skin colour...
oh well i'm going blue next time... at least when that fades it will go grey which will look kinda cool...

when i first got mine done it did same so now i use the ones from rocky horror shop, use the poppy red with a little bit of rubine and a little bit of fuscia pink and it makes it a gorgeous deep red colour and lasts bit longer too, it also fades through pink rather than orange. when uve done t a few times tho the colour lasts longer.
