I'm just listening to the interview that Dolly did with Nick Barraclough for Radio 2.

I've always liked her music, but gosh (or Gee), what a nice person she is!

My favourites are:

9 to 5
Jolene
Everything Is Beautiful
Islands in The Stream
and
Love is Like a Butterfly

Also 'The Best Little Whorehouse In Texas' is a (rootin', tootin') heck of a great movie.

Y'all come back now, y'hear?

Can't stand Dolly Parton! Still, everyone to their own tastes.

Noticing the song title 9 to 5 reminds me, I must go to bed now... got to be working 9-5 today!

Night-night Deavon!

Yay Dolly Parton!

Tumble outta bed
And stumble to the kitchen
Pour myself a cup of ambition
Yawnin', stretchin', try to come to life
Jump in the shower
And the blood starts pumpin'
Out on the streets
The traffic starts jumpin'
And folks like me on the job from 9 to 5

I don't like country and western, but Dolly Parton is one of the most talented songwriters of the last few decades! Listen to one of her Bluegrass albums, you'll be surprised at how diverse her style is.

She wrote 'I will always love you' for gawd's sake!

Go listen to her version of Joan Baez's Silver Dagger on 'The Grass is Blue' - lovely stuff. We sing that song in our band cos of hearing it from Dolly.

Top lady

The only person I can listen to singing Dolly Parton's I Will Always Love You, is Dolly herself, cant stand Witney Houston blurting it out, awful.

I'm not big on celebrities, but I absolutely adore Dolly Parton.

If you've ever seen her on american talk shows, she's hilarious. She almost always takes questions from audience members. One person asked, "when you were a kid, did you have running water?" Dolly's answer, "Yep." "But we had to run and git it!"

A woman stood up and asked if she'd ever consider having her famous "assets" downsized. Dolly's response was, "heck NO, darlin!" "I've spent a fortune gettin' 'em this big." "Why would I make 'em smaller?!"

There was a Travel Channel special on Dolly, and a behind the scenes look at her very own amusement park, called what else, but Dollywood. It's the second biggest tourist draw in the state of Tennessee. First being the Grand Ole Opry .

She tells how her manager suggested purchasing a rundown amusement park as an investment. Then Dolly lowers her voice and says "but mostly, I bought it because I just wanted a place for all my kinfolks to work". "See, none of 'em had jobs and they all needed somethin' to do".

I've never been, but if I ever get to Tennessee, I'm visiting Dollywood.
