I have been thinking a bout an old neaibour who was killed several years ago.
the cause was the super tram or it track.I was wondering how many accidents have been have been caused by the tram since it started.?
Super tram will not release any figures as they are sensitive about this .

We were talking about this at work. There do seem to be incidents on a fairly regular basis, but having said that there are also dozens of road incidents around the city each day.

To be able to judge this properly, one needs to compare the figures who are killed or injured by other forms of public transport such as buses, trains etc. and indeed by cars. I don't have any figures, but I doubt very much that the tram would be more dangerous than buses, and certainly less dangerous than cars.

There is some evidence concerning the incidence of accidents involving trams in Sheffield, although most of the studies appear to date back to the early years of the tram system.

When the system first started, there was concern about the number of accidents involving cyclists and pedestrians. Indeed, there are learned papers by Sheffield medical staff on this very issue. This was compounded by a number of well-publicised accidents involving cars and the tram system (either through skidding on the track or through collisions).

I give some examples of this evidence below, although I would be interested to see more recent data.

i remember hearing of a bus/lorry colliding with a tram and trapping a person in between, killing them.

That was 2 or 3 years ago.
