Errr... what did you expect the city council were going to do with all the recycled items?

Was paper, plastic and glass ever likely to be worth enough to be profitable? Perhaps the council should be recycling scrap metal, and could offer a service of going into people's back gardens to save them dragging it to the front of the house... bet they'd make a profit then!
