Anyone fished it recently. Going in the morning. Info on which lake to fish and baits would be grateful. Usually fish on the pole with a decent chunk of meat for the bigger Carp...

sorry to hear that sskirrow, i take it that hallcrafot hasnt recovered too well after the virus in some of its lakes last year ?????
or was it too hot for em ???
Do not know.. Plenty of Carp about though, maybe to warm. We did stay quite late when temperatures dropped. It just did not pick up like many commercials do.. Match results advertised on their website are always decent...

Bridge, Moat was matched up.. to be honest, no one was catching much... Tried all sorts of tactics and baits... Even the small silver fish were not really playing when their usually a nightmare taking the shot.

if you could see them cruising on the top, iw ouldnt lose any sleep about it, they certainly werent feeding in the sun for me too, just one of those days, sure if you go again when the temp is about 20c you will have a good day
had a walk round yesterday evening, might have even walked past you. chatted to a guy and the owner on the moat Island, 80lbs of carp won the match but many didn't catch much. The guy I was talking to had 2 carp on a link leger with meat on the hook, just down the edge. He was telling me how someone caught 2 carp for 36 Lbs a few weeks ago. Huge fish for a commercial. not for the faint hearted.
looks like the fish were starting to spawn then the weather changed.
Worth a try again when the weather warms up and stays settled, meat and corn seem the baits.
he had a waggler set up for fishing 18inches deep with meat, so worth considering
Saturdays open was won with 215lb with a further 3 100lb plus weights on moat. The fish are still pretty tightly shoaled cos of spawning and it's a bit hit and miss from what I can gather.
