Hi all,
I have my little (19yrs) sister staying with me for the foreseeable future and am trying to think of some kind of employment she can get in the centre of Sheffield while here.
I've been working in IT for too many years and have forgotten what other kind of jobs there are out there so I could do with some suggestions please.
I thought about bar work but I'd rather find something that didn't involve her walking home at night.
She has done bar work before and been a joint manager at a youth centre.
Thanks

Would she be interested in call centre work? The Sky contact centre in Town are recruiting, there's a thread on here about it in the jobs section.

My sister, same age, has been doing bits of work for various perfume companies, which I think she got through an agency.
Its not a permanent full time job, but she gets a few bits a month, a week here and a week there, in places like House of Fraser or Boots. Basically she stands and offers sample sprays of the newest perfumes to passing customers. They are long days when she gets them, usually 9-6, but obviously she doesn't know when the next job is going to come up. She has done a fair few weeks in the last 3 months though.
I'll see if I can find out which agency it is

Maybe she can get day shifts for bar work or you could meet her and walk her home if you live in the city centre.

Does anyone know of any decent employment agencies that are worth approaching for general employment?

Aye, the ones I've worked for haven't been great but then in my experience it's not exclusive to the Sheffield agencies.
Any good non industry specific job websites? I know of Monster and Fish for jobs but if anyone has any real world experience of any others that'd be helpful.

Ive used Indeed a few times. It lists all job sites and vacancies posted on the web....(Agency & non-agency work/recruitment)

mysheffieldjobs.co.uk and jobstoday.co.uk seem to be good for local vacancies - jobstoday is part of the Sheffield Star so all vacancies that go in the paper go on this website.
Hope this helps
