After battling the M18 this morning, 1hr.45 mins to get to work I feel that drivers who break down within the contraflow ought to be horse whipped ... its inconsiderate and bl**dy annoying!!

well the lorry driver would be lucky to be alive judging by the state of the lorry at 6.50am it was on bbc news that the m18 jun 1 to 2 were closed both ways, when it re opened it was very busy.

I doubt whether the lorry driver is going to sit in it whilst its on fire, so I reckon he'll be long gone before it was engulfed.

unless it was an explosion - but i would imagine he got out alive - not what you want to see at half 7! its worse when slip road is blocked :-(

I join at j31 Aston at 7.30, it was backed up on the M1 ... wouldn't mind, but there was nothing on the northbound when I got to the lorry fire!

am only on M18 till J1 the lorry was on our side but going the other way (cotraflow) so i would imagine they would have shut all of it off before they re opened it. What time do you travel?
