My recommendation would be Failsafe heating (gas boilers, plumbing) as they do a consistently good job at very reasonable rates. They rearranged their schedule to come and see us when the boiler went on the blink and our new born had just come back from the hospital, and even advised me not to go to the expense of getting some work done as it wasn't necessary. 0114 248 9782

I can recommend A & M Locksmiths. I was locked out, 118118 gave me their number, I called them and they were here in 30 mins. The bloke got me in quickly and changed the lock with no mess or fuss. Price was pretty good too! Their number was 0114 2884673. If I needed a locksmith again i'd definately use them.

I can highly recommend this guy. He did a good days work for me replacing wooden guttering and installing new down pipes on my property. Did a bit of spontaneous pointing on the brickwork too. Helpful, tidy and very fairly priced. A joiner by trade but clearly a very flexible tradesman. Call 07786927234 and ask for Lyndon.

Not exactly a veggie myself but surprised at how nice a lot of the stuff is. They do serve meat as well
They also make the best onion bhajis in the world.

I know this sounds strange but there is a local estate agent called Property Plus. Apparentley they work with some of the local builders in sheffield. A friend recommended them to me and during the process of looking for the best quote I took my plans to get a qoute from them as well. What can i say... they were by far the best qoute i recieved price wise. not to sure about them i asked if i could see the quality of any previous work. It was all sound. i handed the the job of building our two story extension over to them and I am more than happy with the whole process and outcome. It was all hassel free. i had no worries because there was always someone to come back to. I do truely recommend them for the qaulity of their work and i dont think you can beat their price. I dealt with a guy named Shaun at the Woodseats office. Ill post the number as well.(0114 250 0050).

I'd second the recommendation for Rudi. He did a great job on my plastering too.

Also I'd recommend John Greaves for block paving. Did a great job for us. 07793315742.

This thread is SO useful when you are doing up your house!
