Yeah, I use WMP for video files and Winamp for MP3s/online radio such as Phan FM.

For some unknown reason though, Winamp won't play video files for me, even though I have the latest version, whenever I try and load even an AVI file much less an MPEG, Winamp just locks up and/or crashes...

How can it be classed as an "all round" media player though if it won't play videos?

Oh well, WMP serves my purposes and plays EVERYTHING except Phan FM.

Real Player is pretty bloated and uses a lot of CPU power - it'll 'play up' if you're asking the computer to do many things at work - I use iTunes for music; I only use Real Player to play streaming video [only BBC] can I think force you to use it...

I prefer Winamp to WMP, but WMP seems to be better for playing movies - not that I regularly play movies on a computer...

Winamp used to have no problem in playing movies (at least on my machine) but the last couple of builds have left me going back to Media Player for movie playing. Dunno what they did to it, but it now judders with mpg files Still my choice for music though

Have to agree about Real Player though, it uses a lot of memory for what it does, and you're best using something else, TBH.

Like Kentboy, I only use it on the BBC site, as the Media Player option isn't always there.
