Hello forum footballers

after several threads about people organising games and nothing seeming to come of them, me and a buddy have taken the plunge and set up our own team at Goals on Wednesday nights.

We have a match this week and having spoken to the chap that runs the league he is going to try and get us into a league as soon as possible and has placed us in a mini league of new teams for the time being. We are playing a grading match this wednesday so am looking for people who may be interested in playing regularly for us or are available the odd week (Wednesdays). I want to try and build a list of reliable people and maybe organise some friendly kick about's to run along side this team.

Specifically after someone who would be interested in playing in goal, or at least sharing goal duties with myself on alternative weeks.

cheers

never played there no, Goals was the best location for us as we are coming from various places and Powerleague doesn't have a wednesday league.

Depending on the cost, I would be interested, I used to play 5-aside at a good standard

The cost per game for goals is 27.50per team. We are looking to get 6 (so one sub) so thats just over £4.50 per person as we don't want people stood about not getting a game etc.

Do you play for New Boh then? I thought I recognised that name and its because their is an article of your team on the South Yorkshire Amateur for winning the cup but I notice your not in the league anymore as thats what I play in this year.

When you looking at starting the team? Any matches lined up?

tomorrow (wednesday 23) is our first match! @ 7.45pm

we only signed up sunday and we are playing our grading match tomorrow which is to see what standard we are and where we should end up. Bit of a ramshackle team at the moment although I have a few others that can make it in the future but were caught out by the short notice.

If you are interested your more than welcome to come tomorrow and play and then see if you want to join us every week or when you can. Will Pm you my number.

Hi, where is this goals place? I'm new to the area and have just started playing (last sunday was my first training session) with the lads at Hillsborough FC, but would like one more game during the week to play.

I'm carp at the moment though because I'm just coming back from injury.

I am a keeper returning to football after a seven year break, I used to play at Powerleague for a succesfull team, but stopped due to work and family commitments.

I will only play on the softer rubber crumb pitches and not sports halls or the harder concrete astro-turf pitches. I am available most evenings and weekends.

Will take me a few weeks to shake off the rust, but looking forward to getting back into it again.

Mail me at joncot-bol@hotmail.com with details.

Hi I play football on Mondays at Concord Leisure centre from 9pm-10pm. We are a group of mates who have played friendly and a fun games of football together for about 15 years now. As we are getting older and some have family commitments numbers are dwindling. We are looking for about 2-4 players to come make up the numbers. Standards of the players vary greatly its more about the fun and fitness and is no means competitive. So if you fancy joining us please let me know.

Thanks
James

I'm a pretty decent keeper who's team doesn't have a match this week. If you're playing Tuesday, Thursday or Friday and need someone in the nets give me a bell. 07798700639.

Cheers
Mik

I used to play to an ok standard, 3 5-a-side games a week at one point at goals. But i have been out for about a year through with ankle injury. I would love have a kick about if you are playing friendlies etc, definately not fit enough for a proper match though. Put on a bit of beef since also lol. Could be interesting haha

I used to play 5-a-side 2-3 times a week at Goals. Not played properly in around a year now due to injuries, work etc and unfortunately the teams i used to play for no longer play.

Due to being out for a while i have lost my fitness, so could do with joining a team who has some patience, and preferably not in the top divisions of their leagues I want to start playing again and get my fitness back.

Ideally id like to join a team who has friendly matches and league matches, in 5 or 6 a side and likes to have a laugh. I have a powerful shot, quite strong, 5'9 not the silkiest of players, nor the best tackler. I used to be alright in goal, but its not my strong suit.

Im available evenings and weekends, pm me if your short of players or interested.

Darren

Thanks to everyone for all your messages. I have got a couple of teams I might be playing for.

However if anyone needs goalkeeper cover in the future for the odd game then please feel free to contact me.

If you register with the Goals website they can put you in touch with teams who need players, plus there are always ads on here for players.

I started again this week after 8 years out and it was so good to get back into it.
