Hi,

I've done a full clear out and have all sorts of clothes, towels etc I want to give to a charity shop or homeless shelter, does anyone know what condition they'll accept? They're not dirty and don't have holes in or anything gross, but I don't think they look new enough for a charity shop to be able to re-sell.

Can anyone help please?

Thanks

Maybe bag them up in one of those charity bags that comes through the door? They should take them as long as they're in 'good' condition.

Maybe one of the animal charities could use the towels? Not sure about the clothes though - if you really think they're not reusable there are recycling bins at various sites that take textiles.

The towels would be greatly appreciated by many of the dog charitys.

The clothes, if theyre not suitable for re-using as such, charity shops will accept them if they have a 'rag man', they weigh the not so good stuff up weekly and get paid for it I know that extracare at Hillsborough used to have this (in 2007!) but not sure about others x

Exactly what I was going to say! I have just taken a huge bag full of towels to the RSCPA at Attercliffe, they were very grateful of them for the dogs.

St.Lukes charity shop at Gleadless are always very grateful for clothes, whatever condition they are in. If they are not suitable for sale, they get good cash for them, by weighing them in. I have also taken loads of stuff there, and they also accept bedding and curtains, for the same reason.
