Our Merlot is a female cat and I suspect by her increasing vocals and rubbing up on everything she is in season. 5 month old house cat, never been out and has never shown the need to want to. How long do we have to put up with this very loud Meowing? Lol quite cute but can be annoying! Would speying put an end to her obvious needs?

Definetly get her speyed ASAP, speak with your vet as regards getting her sorted, length of time can vary from cat to cat. Even tho she is a housecat, she will let her hormones get the better of her, and she will try to get out, and believe me, there will be a tom lurking around the corner!! LOL x

w were the same with custard, 1st time we've had a girl kitty so when she had her first season I thought something was wrong with her, she was going mental, meowing so loud all night, wiping on everything(and everybody) with her ass in the air, vet said this happens every 3 weeks(can you imagine having that to deal with every 3 weeks?) until she gets pregnant!!
booked her in straight away, yayyy no crazy fliting and trolloping about!
