Hi Panther Rose,
Unfortunately we can't broaden the f/b group settings for spam reasons. Do you have another email address? If so you could set up a dummy f/b profile with that and just use it for checking the page? That's all I can suggest I'm afraid.

Hi all!
Anyone fancy meeting some new people in Sheffield? If so, why not come along to the Graduate Pub on Sunday at 8pm for the quiz to meet others in the same position! We're a group who's formed for people who want to meet new people and have fun in Sheffield and althoguh most of us are in our 20/30s all (over 1 are welcome.
So if you fancy coming along to the pub quiz just head down there and look for 'Beppe' the monkey in a Santa hat who'll be sat on the table with the group!
For more details about this event and many more including a book club, pie night, cake workshop, comedy night and more see Sheffield Social on Facebook!
Nice bunch of people and well worth a try!

Any chance of putting these dates here on SF for those without access to FB? I think me, "Jason Willey" (and others) may be interested in some of these nights

Unfortunately that's not going to be possible because I've had quite a few problems doing so. A major problem with it is that lots of information and discussion about events happens on the events pages which I can't put on here (just one for each event is a lot of work) - this means people on SF wouldn't know about additional details e.g. people meeting beforehand for food/drinks, or more importantly if an event is cancelled they would not receive a notification. It also gets a bit awkward for events which require payment in advance.
Us admins agreed that if people want to get involved in the group more widely than coming along to pub quizzes, then it would need to be through the f/b group as other people from the group do not seem to use this thread and it is not practical to have info in two places. I think that given that setting up a facebook page only requires the same details as a SF profile (don't have to put your real name etc) then this seems reasonable.

Hi myduskyqueen,
I realise this sounds pathetic, but not good with computers. How do I join on the face book group?

Hi, I tried going onto face book then typing in Sheffield Social. But it didn't work.
It came up with a list of social clubs, but not Sheffield forum.
There must be a failsafe way for someone like me (a technafobe) to accses the Sheffield forum face book site.
Never mind as I am new to this Sheffield forum, I guess I will get used to everything soonish.
Bye for now.

Oh well, it was just a thought. Think I will have to become a 'fake' member on FB to get more info.

Yes I have done it.
Welsh girl just keep that sign up(Sheffield social on Face book) you just have to clik on that address and it takes you straight to the face book site, as if by magic. No fuss.

I'd love to come along but i'm so shy with new people... Can i ask how many people manage to come along to the events?
Thanks
