Cool. I've been to Baan Thai before, and I'm not a massive fan (nothing wrong with it - it's a perfectly nice place - just not my cup of tea), so I'm not coming along on Friday.

Depending what time you will all be done we could go to the pub? It will be a Friday, after all...

Awesome. Who's for beers at the weekend? Kelham Island or Crookes/Broomhill/Commonside would be ideal for ale-y purposes.

Doesn't have to be a huge shindig.

Hiya Chris,
I think the plan is to go out afterwards, but I guess it's difficult to make plans if they don't know how long the meal will take. I'm not able to make it myself as I'm away this weekend, otherwise I'd make arrangements to let you know as we were eating.
Sorry not much help!

Sorry for the short notice but I've been a bit tied up this week (not literally). Anyway, payments for anyone wanting to go to the Cocktail Masterclass on 8th April are needed TOMORROW.

Further details on the event and how to pay:
(p.s. Becky's organising the event so if you'd like to get in touch with her before making any payment please feel free to drop me your email address and I'll pass it on)

----------------------------------------------------------------------------
Experience the history, tools & skills of cocktail mixology...shake, muddle, strain & stir your way through a range of classic cocktails (and drink them too!)

This 90 minute session includes welcome drinks, cocktail history, skills, demos and at least two cocktails each to make behind the bar plus certificates and keepsakes to remember your event by.

£25 per person - due payable by Friday 4th March (paypal! - b@beckylord.co.uk).

If anyone fancies meeting up straight from work just let me know!

PS. There is an 8 person minimum for this event so if we don't reach this number it will be cancelled I'm afraid.

Hi Panther Rose - I hope you got my second message last night and are sorted now.

For anyone else out there, the link to the facebook page can be found again here, or search for 'Sheffield Social'. If anyone else is having problems getting to the page, please let me know and I'll pass on the details to one of the more IT bods in the group!

If you haven't seen the previous posts, the group is for anyone wanting to meet new people in the Sheffield area. Most of us are in our mid/late twenties or early thirties, but anyone 18+ is welcome. It's just a free informal group where members suggest events of all types and we have fun. There are currently 84 members of the page, so plenty of nice new people to meet!

I'm currently in discussion with the other admins about whether to continue posting individual events on this forum, but I'll post once a decision has been made.

Fi

Hi Welshgirl, thanks for your message. I kept trying the link but it just would not take me to the sheffield social page. I don't know how this problem can be resolved. At least you are keeping me (and others) up to date via the sheffield forum website. After reading your post, my concerns is that I maybe the oldest person there as I am a young 40 year old.

Hi,
Could you not find it by searching for 'Sheffield Social' once you are logged in to facebook either? That's very strange - the only problem that anyone's had is that their facebook profile does not state that they are 18+ and live in the UK (requirements for the page) - maybe worth checking your settings?
Everyone's welcome at the events, and we do have members well in to their thirties (and maybe higher - I don't like to ask!). We have a variety of events that hopefully cater to a variety to people. I would say that you would be more than welcome and the only way to know is to give it a try and see what you think. The pub quiz is a great first event for anyone as there's usually quite a few of us there, it gives a chat for some chat but also the focus of doing the quiz itself, plus if you think we're a bunch of weirdos you can always leave early! (we're not - not all weirdos anyway!).

Let me know if the settings change on f/b works.
