I was on my way to the match at Brammal Lane today, when a little Asian girl was knocked down by a car on London Road. As a first aider I went to help, another lady (also a first aider) was already in attendance, so stayed and helped try to keep the child calm until the paramedics arrived. She didn't seem to be badly hurt but if anyone knows her. please let me know if she is alright.

With others, I tried to help before the police arrived by directing traffic off London Road. Most drivers followed this advice - including buses!

But there was one w****r in an SUV who ignored us all. He drove right up to the accident scene. Only then realising he couldn't get past, he three point turned and went the way of everyone else. Looked completely stupid

Poor lass - I also hope she is OK.

As with the SUV-er and similar minded people I always carry at least one High-vis jacket in my car for any emergency (and the others). I'd have donned it and walked in the middle of the road with a warning triangle in my arms and 'directed' them to go somewhere else.

This might JUST have gotten their attention (from all accounts) - if not they could be driving away with a warning triangle in a window of my choice.

Also as with busses all they mainly do once off the beaten track is call in with a code 9 (emergency and to both I think) and relay X road is unavailable and please advise other drivers (and possibly help what do I do now?)
