Am I right in saying the Don Valley stadium was not around at the time of Geo; VI?
The reason I ask is because it was listed as one of the locations for the movie The Kings Speech.Elland Rd Leeds was also listed.
Anyone know were in the movie we see the stadium?

Don Valley Stadium was built for the world student games which were held in 1991. Definitely not built at the time of George V1, as he died forty years earlier, in 1952.

I can only presume that the far end where the "flame" is, which is like an old fashioned stadium must have been used, in close up, in a crowd scene.

There were one or two scenes inside "Wembley Stadium" - it's most likely those, with a bit of CGI added for effect (the old twin towers)

I've done a bit of research and it seems, strangely, that neither Edward VIII nor George VI were Rotherham United fans
