Could all you lovely folks try the link below and let me know if my website opens and also what browser you are using

It's no where near finished but i've just got my notebook back so i can carry on working on it. I'm not going to continue with it though if no-one can see it

I'm asking because in another thread some people couldn't open it.

Also... Does anyone have any idea why it opens for some and not for others?

Thank you peeps!

Thanks everyone Hopefully it was a temporary problem.

No page titles adaline?

The first time someone visits the website it can be a bit slow but it should run at normal speed after that.
It could also be the server that's a little slow. I guess thats the price of free hosting

Well kinda, they dont say an actual title just the file name, its an importnat detail I couldnt miss it! lol
So for example on your home page "index.htm" the tile is indeed
Code:
<title>index.htm</title>

IE6, 2Mb broadband, loads fine.

Couple of spelling / typing errors on the front page - nothing major.

Also tried it in Firefox and it seems OK.

In terms of some people not seeing it, is it a newly registered domain? Sometimes it can take a while for DNS changes to ripple through the Net. Longest I ever experienced was 5 or 6 days, when I could see a client's site, the client's customers could see it but the client themselves couldn't!!

No background in Knoqueror.

FF is fine (as ever).

Loads quickly enough (though everything usually does on BY).

Ohh right Your the second person to notice that. I'll try and figure out how to solve it.

Joe: The site has been there for about 2 months now. It's just that i'm a lazy so-and-so and didn't get round to finishing it before this notebook packed in. I'll take a look at those spelling mistakes too...

sccsux: WOW A browser i've never even tried. I have no idea why the background wouldn't work though

If you are using a WYSIWYG editor there should be a "page properties" section that you can change the title. If not there may be a bar at the top that says "index.htm" instead of a proper title. If you are using a text editor you just need to change the bit between the title tags. HTH

But that would change the name of the page, meaning having to update the links throughout the site.

I'm not very good with DW as it is

it seems fine......

the only explanation i can think of is if anyone is blocking cookies etc some sites can be very fussy about opening!
