It's a shame they aren't on patrol on P. road after middnight every night when the boy racers/asians/drug dealers in their souped up cars use the town-centre end of the road as a drag track. The exhaust noises wake me up every ****ing night.

I personally would welcome some more police checks like this. It seems that there are so few traffic police any longer just gatso cameras.

Now they have started crushing cars which are not insured, maybe some of the thieving scum who drive around unisured and untaxed will get a taste of some proper justice for once.

The rest of us pay an extra third in our vehicle insurances which covers all the unisured accidents. How can any legitimate properly insured driver complain about a crackdown?

And before anyone says why aren't they catching murderers, I would like to remind you that more people die on the UK roads every year than all the murders put together in the UK for the last century.

I went passed @ 11:30 ish & a mate was there in his new BMW, so seems not looking for "shed"type cars, just a general "pull & check". Agree with muddy though!

it's surprising how many wanted criminals and illegals caught at ordinary vehicle checks.

I got pulled over on Parkway at about 3.00 this afternoon and asked me all kinds of unusual questions about the car.

I also saw loads on Penistone Road at about 12.30ish too.

Without sounding like some tabloid wheeling idiot, I know of a mugging and a burglary over the weekend which my friends saw/were victims of so you'd think they could concentrate their efforts elsewhere.

There are police teams who are concentrating on that. But because there has been a mugging all other policing does not stop until the mugger is caught. South Yorkshire police have enough officers to investigage more than one crime at a time

Anyway I know someone who was hit by an uninsured driver at the weekend, so I'm pleased the police are concentrating their efforts on that.

They were stopping cars in the Queens Road area today.

I was being followed by a dodgey looking clapped out old banger. Then the driver spotted the police and moved into the inside lane, and went past them trying to "hide" behind my car.
