Australia day commemorates the arrival of the first British fleet at Sydney Cove in 1788... However, it's also an excuse to celebrate all things Aussie (except the cricket) and get wasted.

What is everyone doing?

it's 6.00am in the morning here Perth Aus time, getting ready to go to bed at usual 6.30am.

will get up around 2pm and be down the Swan River for my 'fix', that's a 2-3 hour sail session.

yesterday got off the water at around 7.15pm, around 3 hours on the water and i still feel very stiff,so i hope you feel sorry for me.

huge fireworks display is on in city centre, usually get a few hundred thousand attending but i'm too lazy.

i work nightshift cleaning so will be working anyway till after midnight.

Taking the mickey out of the Aussies in the office with a presentation/commiseratoion set of cricket bails...:-)

There's a sit down indoor (presumably smoky) BBQ later but I've not told them about that yet - I want revenge for the last Ashes defeat they inflicted on us.
