As the OP said allthough it sickens me to the bone and really piddles me off students are a very easy target for burglars and I place a large amount of blame to certain landlords (not all before you bash me), too for not protecting them more.
Scumbags are enticed to student houses due to usually a high volume of expensive property within, houses are usually split up into 4 plus rooms which in a criminals eyes means theres 4 x laptops, 4 x cameras, 4 x TV's, etc etc....... A good deal of landlords know this fact but in their efforts to make as much "£" as possible, they neglect improving security which would deter criminals from the property, (eg a load of these houses have old doors and windows that from personal nowledge having a soon who was unfortunate to live in a ground floor room which got robbed whilst out through a rotten old window).
I'm really sorry this happened to you, no doubt it will put you on edge now which sickens me as these scumbags don't realise the effects they have on people, I'm glad you managed to stop them before they got anything.
