Specialist?? they're all sales people....I know they have the genius bar, but all they are, are sales people that can strip the back off an iPhone.

^ That's not true. Not at all.

Ask someone at PC World something specific and see how many vague answers you get. Or they just lie to get the sale.

All people at Apple stores are trained on both machines and software to help customers. Staff that are more knowledgeable become genius's. The reason they all look happy is because they're treated like a family, enjoy there jobs and probably get a discount on all products.

Congratualtions on been short listed and good luck blade.

The PC World product line is quite a bit larger, more complicated, and with much higher turnover than the Apple Store product line, so it's going to be many times harder to train the staff in the details of every product.

On the other hand, you don't get forced to buy a copy of Norton with every purchase in the Apple Store.

Most "Apple specialists" are sales people but if you like Apple products (not just apple juice ) then you're likely to enjoy the role. There is slightly more to it than just pure sales IMO as you have to really know the products and you will be trained up so you do.

A lot of people would really enjoy working for them as like most American companies there is a great work environment.

Good Luck with it!

^^ indeed. i phone strippers my backside - the genius bar workers are effectively my own IT department. they have rebuilt dropped laptops, replaced damaged cases, put in new hard drives and answered techinical questions galore.

try getting anything more than 'have you turned it off and on again' from anyone in pc world - no more or less than any other shop sales staff.

Oh dont get me wrong, if your product is in warranty they'll look after you, as soon as i's out of warranty they want to turn you upside down and empty your pockets....
