Hey,

Someone recently told me from a college that their is a new scheme going across South Yorkshire. It is a website that you join up to and become a volunteer helping people with today's technology such as using a pc, games console, basic Internet and pc tasks. After you learnt someone who didn't know the skills before you write it in a diary on this website and after so long of helping people you get a e mentor certificate.

So I joined up the website and found out that you only help - learn your family and friends and not other members of the public. I emailed the college which I got told about this and the college also runs this scheme and asked them to delete me of their data base which they didn't abs did not even reply.

I decided to post my opinion on the forum they also have for registered people to use and say I think it was crass, and a waste of the governments money and that it will all be forgotten about. However my comment was not slanderous or libellous and I received an email saying I have been suspended for posting a negative comment. They recieved an email back of me saying a forum is where you express - share information and opinions and that I shall use a proper forum which is this site!

Now what a complete utter waste of time and money from governments funding for Yorkshire again!!.

Digital Region is going to bring superfast broadband to 80 per cent of premises in South Yorkshire by next year. Average 25 Mbps, but commonly 40Mbps.

BT and the Government's ambition is two thirds of the country by 2015.

So South Yorkshire will have a three-year march on everywhere else.

My house in Meersbrook can already get it, it costs about £24-a-month.

Question is, will we capitalise on this future technology?
