You're sure to find some (mostly of the lovely park) here:

http://images.google.co.uk/imghp?hl=en

(enter "meersbrook" and hit search)

I have big plans for a site all about the area to make my domain useful (meersbrook.co.uk) - but haven't had the time ... yet (sorry!)

Cheers,
John.

Having already contributed to this post just remembered I took a panorama clip with my camera during the summer.

It's from the top of Meersbrook Park.

Just under 2meg file size and in Quicktime [.mov] format.

Feel free to have a look here...

It's cool up there! On this clip you also get my shadow, free of charge LOL.

Anne & Pete (1st husband) or Scottish John
kids were Gary, Trudy & Zoe my goddaughter

Slept there on numerous occasions after babysitting for them in the early 70s, cant remember the Dulux dogs name but remember it having pups and biting some of their heads off.

How recent was it then that Bishops House was taken over by the Council etc.? (hadn't realised it had remained a "normal" house / residence up until as recently as the 1970's - interesting stuff, cheers)

John.

John.
It belonged to the Council/Parks department when they lived there, Pete was a tree surgeon for the Parks Department.
They only occupied the right half as you look at the front and there was no-one in the other half.
As to when it became a museum I am not sure as I married in 1976 and moved out of the area losing contact with them but it was some years after that.
