 Hi i've been told i need to buy two of these little babies to connect my blue ray and sky hd box for 3d??
can i buy cheaper?? i have saved hard for the TV and didn't take into account the cables (foolish woman)!!
need 2 for thursday any suggestions you lovely people xx

You need a HDMI 1.4 for 3D. There's a few here, gold plated connectors, for around a tenner from Amazon.

if your not bothered about the ethernet capabilities of hdmi 1.4, and won't be using it, then a standard 1.3a cable will work fine for your needs....

i just use a standard hdmi lead ? didn't think you needed a special type, and i have spare hdmi leads if you want a cple for free.gold connections on them.

we got ours off ebay, from a sheffield seller who actually delivered it to our house aswell, i think it only cost us a fiver and its done its job

as I said, unless you want to use the Ethernet feature of HDMI 1.4, you do NOT need a 1.4 cable for 3D

The price people charge for HDMI cables is a joke. The only difference between them is build quality, comparing similarly specced cables, i.e 1.3 and 1.4's.
There is no need to fall for marketing and buy the most expensive.

There is no such thing as a 1.4 HDMI Cable - this is just banded about because of poor knowledge and duff branding / advertising.
The versioning refers to HDMI as a whole, so you could have a HDMI 1.4 input for an AV reciever etc, but the cable is not a 1.4 cable.
The cables are Standard, High Speed, or High Speed with Ethernet. You want to be using a high speed cable for 3D. You can get these for a few quid off Amazon and the like, or £100 in Currys and the like!! Same (well, similar) cable - relying on misinformation to make huge profits.
By all means get a better cable but unless your cable needs to be longer than 5m then you dont need to spend a lot. Your 99p cable may disintegrate after a while, but you may be better of buying a bunch of them to allow for replacement - however if you've sunk cables in the wall you might want to spend a bit more and get a better quality one. I mean a £10 or £20 cable rather than a £2 cable - not £100, I cant see any reason to spend that much.

I can't understand why anybody would pay £65 for a bit of wire. Some people must though, or they wouldn't ask those prices.
