Hi, I have a Stratford Cannon gas cooker, the hob works fine as does the grill. When lighting the oven the pilot comes on fine but then it doesn't go to the next stage (sorry but can't think of the right words - fire up?). We had the problem months ago and with a bit of a fiddle it seemed to sort itself out but now it won't and we're supposed to be cooking Christmas dinner here. Is there anyone out there who can help us?

Just make sure that the flame from the pilot light is actually hitting thr sensor that it has to heat up before the oven will fire up.

May not be this but has happend to mine before.

Good luck

Mark

Sounds to me like the sensing phial is knackered that opems up the thermastat bellows, letting gas through.

Or something...

I have had a drink

You may be confused with a thermo electric valve (which again does not have a direct flame on the themocouple as such)

Or maybe I am ?

Did I tell ya I have had a drink... ?
