long shot, I know. In `hudd ` next week and not sure where to seek the best ale. been to rat and ratchet in t`past but not really finding owt else on t`web. grove is mentioned and i think i know where that is. anyone suggest other boozers?

You'll know the station bar I guess? Are there two different ones at the station or have I imagined that?

I've been to The Rat and Ratchet and The Grove, and they're both great. The Grove had something like 14 hand pumps on; you could easily stay there all night.

Huddersfield is excellent for a real ale day.

The Grove, Rat and Ratchet, The Sportsman, Head of Steam, Kings Head, The Star, The Vulcan... Plus a Wetherspoons of course.

the wetherspoons in huddersfield is actually excellent for real ale, one of the best i've been to. i don't really like the grove. my favourite is probably the kings head.

Just out of the town centre, but the Slubbers Arms has superb ale as well as a superb name.
