I read an article in the Telegraph about The Runaway Girl, but their website is just a holding page at the minute. Does anyone have any more information about it (apart from the address)? Has anyone been yet?

I went on the opening night, it was excellent. Very nice atmosphere, great crowd, an excellent place. It reminded me a bit of the Lounge on west street, might be because it is quite small, I am not sure! I hope it does well. Another good thing about it is that when you come out you don't find yourself on west street surounded by complete tossers! Poeple should go and I hope the extra 5 min walk does not stop people going.

Yeah I was there on Friday as well. Liked it because there was a slightly different crowd to the West St./hairdresser set. The music was wicked too. Like the fact that they finished proceedings with the Rare Groove classic "Runaway Girl"!

Was given a flier for this place, and although it sounds like good music etc, it is a terrible name (yes I know its a song) and the flier made it look like a 'gentlemens club' in Attercliffe,..... V. off putting

Finally got to the Runaway Girl on Thursday evening for a meal. What can I say? I was very impressed. The cocktails were amazing (and cheap), the food arrived promptly, was hot (so rare these days) and absolutley delicious. There was live music by a solo vocalist which made the atmosphere quite special as well. Very sophisticated.

If you haven't been yet, I strongly recommend giving it a go - I will certainly be going back. Having a brief chat with the owner, the evening events look quite good as well.

May have seen you in there, Klaus.

I was with a group of peeps near the stage end on Thursday. Just popped in for a quick look and a beer straight from work and ended up staying till after nine - not what we intended at all, but...

The haddock lasagne was amazing!

Moretti beer is the best!

Great service and hospitality from the staff, really nice music and sound system (soz we had to leave early Crackers!)

I'm loving it, me...

Sounds like the perfect place, we'll be dropping by there one of these days.

I must say I do find the logo/look less than inviting (though I am a bit more fussed than most about those things). Love the name though.

Was at Runaway Girl last night - it wasn't packed (it was Tuesday after all) but there was a good crowd and a great atmosphere. Top dj playing laid back jazzy grooves.

Food absolutely gorgeous - I concur about the haddock lasagne - mmmmmm. Really impressed by the food and even more so by the service which was top class. Good food AND good service are a combination that is all too sadly lacking at other eateries in the city. This seems to be something the owner is enthusiastic about and committed to achieving. Long may it continue!

Also agree about the cocktails - a good selection of classics with a twist and you don't require a mortgage to get a round in either!

Get yourselves down there people!

Great to see such positive feedback...

Tonight is our proper posh student night if anyones up for it...? Very laid back tunes with 2x vodka and coke or 2x bottled beer for £1.50....

Lee and Mensa from gatecrasher are playing for us from 8pm.

Oh, and if anyone wants to get on our weekly events mailing list, just mail list@runaway-girl.com.

Hope to see you soon!!
