Hello,

I'm new here and I joined specifically to find out if there are any miniaturists clubs in the Chesterfield/Sheffield area. I currently make miniature dolls house people and venture into customising dolls house furniture from time to time. It would be wonderful to get together with other miniaturists from time to time to share ideas.

I would love to know if there are any woodworkers out there with the skills and equipment to create precision cut pieces for bashing dolls houses. The one I am doing at the moment is a DHE kit made from MDF which is not easy for the amateur to cut and I want to extend it without ruining the rigidity of the building itself. If anyone knows where I can get this done I would be very grateful.

Hi Jo, in my spare time (ha, what's that?) I'm creating a miniature of our tiny terraced house and using a very basic mdf kit I got off eBay but have customised to give it both an opening back and a semi opening front, the front now has a fab bay window, upstairs window and door plus small front garden and I am chuffed with how it is turning out.

I've also got a DHE kit to start on, the Holme Lodge house with basement (the kind of house I wish I owned in real life, sigh!) and will be getting on with that shortly once my first house is finished and now I've completed my eComms foundation degree. It's a fab hobby and we love to visit miniature shows and shops
