Hi people,
I just wondered does anyone know whats happening with the street lighting in Stocksbridge? I was up there earlier today and most of the lights were off.

I asked my mate wholives there and he said he thinks they are trying to lower bills by only having lights on at junctions, but I always thought street lights were wired together so lights could only be switched off street by street, not one by one?

Any ideas?

Sounds like a section fault or something. Its not council policy to turn streetlights off.

I thought it might have been a fault but I thought a fault would only effect 1 road. Most of Manchester Rd, Carr Rd, Coal Pit Lane & Spink Hall Road is switched off.

They are just the roads I went down

What time was this ? Some lighting is coming on late since the clocks have gone back , you can have a few hundred lights coming of one timer.
