My source is merely understanding patterns of weather, the hot and cold fronts around the UK at the minute are those that usually represent snowfall, however for the heavy accumilations that I suggest the wind would have to change, I would say 70% of snowfall at the minute based on what I see.
Come wednesday the weather will start to show it all.

I was responding to the OP of the other thread (this has now been merged with the snow megathread) but in any case, its not a bloody competition, I was merely stating what two reputable websites say. Relax.

This Evening and Tonight:
Scattered showers, mainly in the north, give a risk of ice in Scotland and Northern Ireland. Dry for most though, with clear spells. Cloud and rain spread into the southwest of England and Wales by morning. Windy in places.
Tuesday:
Outbreaks of rain will spread northwards to reach most parts by evening, with heavy, possibly thundery, showers following from the southwest. Further hill snow is expected in Scotland.

Outlook for Wednesday to Friday:
Mostly dry and breezy. Rain and hill snow affecting some western parts Wednesday and Thursday. Snow showers in northeast Friday, with heavy rain and gales spreading from the southwest later.
Updated: 1806 on Mon 14 Feb 2011
UK Outlook for Saturday 19 Feb 2011 to Monday 28 Feb 2011:
A generally cloudy and quite windy weekend is expected, with outbreaks of rain, sleet and snow at times. It will be rather cold in the northeast, with snow most likely here, giving a risk of some large accumulations, mainly over high ground. Outbreaks of rain are most likely further south and west, where temperatures are expected to be less cold, although with hill snow still affecting some central areas. Temperatures should become near normal generally, and mild in some southern parts, early next week, with snow becoming confined to Scottish mountains. It will remain largely unsettled though, with showers or longer spells of rain at times throughout the period, but also some drier and brighter spells.

UK Outlook for Tuesday 1 Mar 2011 to Tuesday 15 Mar 2011:
A generally unsettled, cloudy, but fairly mild start is expected with above average temperatures in the south. Rain is likely in all areas, this mainly in the west where some may be heavy over hills, but drier interludes are expected, especially in the east and southeast. Thereafter, a trend to more settled conditions seems likely, particularly in southern England, with rainfall amounts falling below normal, and sunshine amounts increasing. However, with clearer skies, there is an increasing risk of overnight frost.

I got caught in hail and sleet driving between Lowedges and Gleadless Townend and back again this afternoon. The clouds looked VERY impressive with occasional appearances of what looked like anvil shaped super cells trying to form.

This will be an excuse for teachers to not attend work, again
They are a waste of space - if this is not an excuse to cut public waste, then they could start with teachers

But then parents would be expected to look after their own children during the day - how will you cope??? Don't be rediculous!

Well seeing as you're on the Dole, why are you outraged when the schools are shut. Surely you're able to stay at home and look after the kids?
