A toy-shop.

Yes.

Considering that there are only a couple of toy-shops in Sheffield and neither of them are in town (Toys-r-us doesn't count as it's just an impersonal warehouse), I think the kids deserve something better.

And a nice posh sweet-shop next door would be nice.

Rockport? Stone Island? why do people buy these things? say on average (guessing from my workmates ) a jumper costs £90. what does it do different to my £5 jumper form primark? will people like me more? will it save me from a pillaging viking? make me a bacon sandwich? and no it isn't made better, i have a t shirt that cost £4 thats lasted way way longer than a workmates £3million designer thingy. do you people judge each other on how much your shirt cost? sad sad people. btw i'm not an old git who's past it, i'm a healthy 24 year old who just cant justify spending £110 on a pair of shoes.

As far as I know, there's no river island in town...

Town could do with a:

-La senza
-Bath and body works (there used to be one in meadowhall...but it closed )
-Warehouse
-Virgin Vie cosmetics shop!

I know for sure that Subway are looking for a property in the "heart of the city" and I think there's a good chance it may be there, although I hear plans for a simlar development to the shops on Pinstone street may go ahed.

habitat and h&m would be nice, but small, independent shops are better

Yeah, a good toyshop would be excellent, like the old Redgates shop. That was fantastic - a proper toyshop.

I remember getting excited about going to that place, with all the exciting things hanging in the middle where the lifts were. Fantastic.

It had the magic that Toys R Us lacks.

Mind you, I think toys lack the magic they once had. Kids want X-Box and Nokia these days.

I'd like to see a bigger Fopp, like the one in Nottingham. And Sheffield could do with a Muji too, so lets get one of those in.

We've got a Subway on Division Street, doubt they'll give us another one for a while yet.

Ugh! Got to say I'm surprised at the support for Subway on here. Tried a sandwich from one of these places a few years ago in Huddersfield (leading the way as usual ) and didn't like it one bit.

Best sandwich shop in Sheffield for me is Relish on West Street. Great choice of fillings, nice bread (ie. not rock-hard), and not the McDonalds-style experience that Subway seems to be...

As Duffman said, the owner wants to put another one in the city centre, but the problem was there is no free units which are suitable.... these might be!

There is a good art shop in hillsborough, for whoever it was that asked!

Toymaster is in that big building they call... hmmm what do they call it... sorry guys cant remember... Its like debenahms but further down the moor! Atkinsons?

I think sheffield needs...

A good city centre based second hand music and film shop
A bigger Forbidden planet
The return of the Star store
River Island
Fancy dress shop offering more than just 70s
Stolen fron Ivor
Finnally, a free estate agent offering free houses just for fun!

I think the art shop is on Middlewoor road nr the KFC (not sure on the name), or if you're in town there's Pinders on charter row next to Stokes tiles opp' Atkinsons, and try the works on the moor, I got some materials from there, they are good for the price you pay and not just some cheap tack!

Pinders would seem like the definitive place, but the bank wouldn't let me re-mortgage the house in order to shop there.

I'd like to see a Fopp with a decent vinyl section, like it used to have before they just became a shop for cheap dvds.

It seems a bit silly when you're having to go to London to buy records by Sheffield bands because so few people sell them
