Where I have been for the weekend there are many public benches dedicated to people who have passed away. It is a beautiful spot overlooking the sea. The benches have inscriptions remembering lost loved ones.

I noticed that on one of the benches was a big bunch of flowers with a message....." Happy fortieth birthday darling, I cannot understand why God took you away from me so soon"

I read the inscription on the bench and it was from a man who lost his wife 5 years ago, when she was just 35 years old.
I burst into tears. Does it mean that I am just a big Wuss?

Being in touch with your inner feeling and empathy is a rarity in these times. Cherish it.

Not at all pal. I remember reading on here and in the Star about the motorcyclist killed in Norton. I didn't know the fella and sadly we hear of many deaths like this, but this one really hit me. I felt sad for days about the poor chap and even took time to reflect upon (and change) my own driving habits.

Sometimes death just hits you.

I suppose that what really struck me was that the guy could not find any inner peace even after five years. His view was that God had taken her unjustly away from him.

Yeah mate you're crying at a bench.

You're emotionally unstable.

You stay that way. I'm fed up of this world treating sensitivity as though it were a character defect, which is most certainly isn't!

I'm all up for people crying at stuff but there's plenty more worth while stuff to cry about plus it was 5 years ago the guy's probably gotten over it by now.

Who's to decide what's worth crying over and what isn't?

The OP would probably be upset at many of the things YOU think are more 'worthy' of his tears. But in this instance it was early death of a man's wife that upset him.

You obviously have not read the thread. Actually, maybe you have and you are merely an idiot .

It was on that coast but I would prefer not to say exactly where as someone may have family connections....."It's a small world" and all that.
