So any news on if its for sale etc? Hope they don't trash the interiors so badly that it ends up a financial imposibility like another notorious club owner did.

You mean the old T C Harrrison place next door?

Isn't all that going to make room for a new "Student Village" - flats and stuff?

Thats the one Mr H. That rumour has been around for a couple of years but I thought the building was a grade II listed building?

Hopefully Bed will be bulldozed soon. The place was a dump, but not in a loveable way like Arches is, and had far too many house and generic, mundane club nights.

Utter nonsense. Saturday nights at bed were the only clubbing experience in this northern jungle that even approached the quality of southern nights.

Sorry to be so brutal, but it's true. I'm going to have to start heading to Manchester for an acceptable night out.

Supposedly they've just renamed the Electric Box (old Plasma Lounge) in GC1 to Bed-room, so it looks like we might still have a mini Bed - not ideal but better than nothing I suppose...

I'm not convinced by that idea. Having s1 1dj type peeps, mixed in with bed type peeps, can only get messy.

Utter balls indeed. Unfortunately I don't have such an expense account, as i'm a scummy student. At least there are loads of good nights back home in Liverpool. Gives me a good reason to go back. plus have a home to stay at.

"Scummy student"

Yeah, you've got Garlands, I think Chibuku, and lots of great bars.

And Circus, and society. A few years ago, I used to prefer going out in Sheff as there was so much choice. How things have changed. It's a damn shame

You should have known that clubs like Bed didn't give a flying ***** about their punters from the moment it opened charging £15.

On another tip, once they had Gilles Peterson there and we got turned away by the "fashion police" for (a) Not looking like everyone else or to put in the cherrypickers language "not making enough effort" and (b) for living in Firth Park ?!?!?

It was noticeable how last year they started trying to nick other people's ideas and replicate them.

Clubs like that were a disease. Their death will make everything better. Good riddance.
