IE9 download flunked, unworkable

can't get rid of it, requesting administrator [myself] not accepted, tried download ie8 [original], not accepted, opening bt desktop help - brings up ie9 basic window, seizes, have to shut window: using alt Slimbrsr can't get thru to bt - is there somebody out there hhheeeelllllpppppp::huh:

When you installed it did you select 'run as administrator' from the context menu (right-mouse click)? Also have you tried a system restore?

Sorry, Vista sp2

 

Download and install this it will fix every problem you have had with Vista and Internet Explorer.

Whilst I will hold my hand up to being a "linux fanboy" as someone called me, I don't think the OP is wanting to go this far - he just wants to solve his IE9 issues.

Just spreading the news that the user doesn't have to suffer with shoddy software and have to pay for it too.

Nope, just a massive learning curve and even more disruption to their day. And that's before they realise they can't open any of their files, run the specialist bit of software they use for work or play any of their games.

Neither of what you have highlighted are either the fault of the aforementioned OS or do they ever happen. But I shall stand back and watch the problem be fixed *cough*.

Maybe not faults....

 

But advising a windows user to switch OS to fix a simple problem is hardly sound advice is it?

 

Why not try and actually contribute in helping to solve the OP's problem rather than suggesting something so drastic as installing a totally different OS which I'm sure would cause him/her lots and lots more problems than they have right now.
