I want some for home, ideally to replace my hifi. Would they be good enough to do this? I don't want them to sound rubbish.

does the Ipod have a docking station with RCA out? as far as I'm aware it only has the normal headphone socket in which case your kinda of limited unless you get fancy with your wiring

and if i was going to use an MP3 player as a stereo replacement it certainly wouldnt be an Ipod in the center of some nice speakers... but I'll refrain from the "Ipods suck" crap because someone else will do it later all I'm saying is the DAC in them aren't too good and wouldnt reccomend decent speakers for them...

If it for home use then I would reccommend the harman Kardon soundsticks II. They have a 3.5 mm lead so it will plug straight into your Ipod. They are a bit pricey at around £140 but the sound is amazing and they look great, I have them for my PC.

There are loads of reviews on the web just type it into google.

iPods have a lineout through the dock connector as well as the headphone socket. There's many speakers out there, try http://shop.ipodworld.co.uk/iPodWorl...pods_Speakers/

and try http://www.ilounge.com/index.php/reviews/ for some reviews

Just buy yourself a decent stereo for £200 and plud the ipod into it.

you get a cd player and a tuner then as well.

you could even buy an itrip which lets you broadcast your ipod on your stereo's radio so if you go to a friends house you can take your ipod around there and play it on their radio..

I use JBL Creatures, Great sound, the white ones go with my pod, it was a toss between these and the 'sound sticks'
